Apply for the RISE Bursary Program

The RISE Bursary Program provides financial support to Canadian students who are affected by cholestatic liver disease, including siblings of individuals with the condition. Established by Mirum Pharmaceuticals Canada, the program offers up to five bursaries of $3,000 CAD each to empower students in their pursuit of post-secondary education.

Personal essay

Tell us your story. Your personal essay is a chance for the selection committee to understand your journey. In a maximum of 1,000 words, please describe:

  • How cholestatic liver disease has affected your life or your family, and how you have demonstrated resilience in facing these challenges.

  • How this bursary will support your educational goals.

Letters of recommendation

We require two letters of recommendation from individuals who know you well, such as a teacher, school official, mentor, or employer. The letters should describe:

  • Your character and personal strengths.

  • Their perspective on how cholestatic liver disease has impacted your life or family, and how you've shown resilience.

Proof of enrolment

Please provide proof of enrolment in a recognized Canadian post-secondary institution. Acceptable documents include a transcript, tuition statement, or a letter of acceptance.
