ABOUT THE PROGRAM

The RISE Bursary Program provides educational support to eligible Canadian students affected by cholestatic liver disease–or their siblings–to help them achieve their post-secondary education goals and help them reach their full potential.

Up to five (5) bursaries of $3,000 CAD each will be awarded

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

Applications are open until January 31, 2026, at 11:59 pm PST. You are encouraged to apply if you:

Are a Canadian citizen or permanent resident

Are diagnosed with cholestatic liver disease (e.g., Alagille syndrome or progressive familial intrahepatic cholestasis), or are the sibling of an individual with cholestatic liver disease

Are enrolled in or awaiting acceptance to a recognized Canadian university, college, or trade school (pursuing a diploma, certificate, undergraduate, or graduate degree)

Demonstrate academic ambition and resilience in facing the challenges associated with cholestatic liver disease—either personally or as a supportive sibling
